Procrastinating
I LOVE to read, as much as I can! The thing is, I read for pleasure, so it is usually just the books I enjoy. This time that I carve out of very busy days are very important to me so usually try to be very picky about those books. I love book stores and libraries because of all the possibilities, so when I get THAT book I can't wait to open it and dive in. This week is a big change for me, I have a book(and 3 follow ups when I finish the first one), but I am dreading having to start it. Sami is getting to that age where I have to watch what she is reading, what content is in the books, the YOUNG ADULT section! She is wanting to read, Twilight! I know the first book is okay but I have heard iffy things about the content down the line so I have to read them to figure out what is acceptable and what is not. These books are ridiculous, so if you are a fan, but I am not. So off I go venturing into teenage land, a place that I have grown out of, in an effort to keep my child still a child while I can! Wish me luck and I am sure that I will be out to talk to adults before too long so I can have drama free conversations!

If you had no problem with the inflatable codpiece in Dodgeball, you'll probably have no issues with the Twilight series. It's all very chaste until the last book, but there's nothing outside of marriage.
The writing is not the greatest, but it hits the target market quite well, and Sammi is right in that targeted age group. I read them about a year and a half ago, right when the last one came out, and I would have let an 11-12 year old read them.
Thanks, Karen! I have started it and I will probably make it through. I just have no desire to travel back to the teenage angst, one trip to high school was enough, plus now living with Sami going through it. No patience for it at all! Thanks for the info!
